In March of 2023, several key decision makers came to us with an impossible task: Pitch Google. In two weeks. We won, and launched a multi-billion dollar tech company….’s 2023 holiday shopping campaign.
For Google Shopping’s 2023 Holiday campaign the goal was to create a new behavior with the search bar. Rather than go to Amazon, Target, Etsy, whatever other website to find the thing you’re looking for, go to Google and type “shop _________.”
We needed to land on two key messages. Google helps you shop with confidence with innovative features. Google is a better place to shop vs. competitors.
Reinforcing Google’s position as the best place to start every shopping journey, and empowering people to shop more confidently by reintroducing Google Shopping as a new, better way to start shopping.
The UI is the main character in the story.
The stories don’t live inside a phone. They bring the UI experience into the world of our characters / shoppers. As our shoppers navigate the shopping experience on their phone, what they see on their screen will appear in the world around them for us, the viewer. So we follow along with their journey as a simplified version of the UI that reflects the real shopping experience.
Display banners was the largest buy in the campaign, so we shot the top searched shopping queries in three different settings to create hard working banners.
The UI created stemmed to projects like this, always the main character and guiding the viewer through the story.
